TOPIC:BUT HE REFUSED (1)

FIRE SCRIPTURE:

MEMORY VERSE:

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. – Psalm 1:1

The MESSAGE:

There are many offers that come to children of God to ensnare them and put them in bondage. Such offers are meant to be rejected though they may appear juicy. Some of those offers may be presented where you work or live as a free gift and a lifetime opportunity. My friend, you are expected to reject them because they are scotched egg with life scorpion in it. Once you gullibly accept it and bit it, the scorpion will sting your mouth and inject its deadly venom. I believe you know what will be the result.

Joseph, as a house help in Potiphar’s house, was given deadly offer that could destroy the plan of God for his life by his master’s wife. Mrs. Potiphar wanted Joseph to lie with her; that is, to commit sexual immorality with her. Joseph refused the offer. Do you think it was easy for Joseph to say ‘No’ to his master’s most beautiful wife’s offer? Child of God, in sincerity, it was not easy. It took the grace of God and a lot of self-discipline on the part of Joseph, the young house help. The Bible talks about Daniel who purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself. It was because he understood the trick of the devil and the principle of God. Many people like Gehazi, Elisha’s servant, will never miss such opportunity of free gift without realizing the danger attached to it.

In the world today, there are different attractive offers, proposals, advances and invitations from unbelievers, old and young alike into drug pushing, vandalism, initiation to secret societies, sexual perversion, drinking of alcohol, hooliganism, body tattoo, internet fraud etc. A large number of our young and adult members of the society engage in some, if not in all of these because they do not know how to refuse or reject the offers the way young Joseph did. Why? They lack what would make them to say No: The fear of God and self-control. The Bible says in 1 Thessalonians 5:22, ‘Flee from all appearances of evil’’ and in James 4:7’’….resist the devil and he will flee from you’’. You need the Holy Spirit in your life to teach and remind you of all things (John 14:26). For you not to fall into the error of eternal damnation, you need the presence of the Holy Spirit in your life (Galatians 5:16). You also need to abide in Christ and let Christ abide in you so as to be able to live a victorious Christian life (John 15:4-5).

The eagle of your destiny shall soar to the mountaintop fulfilment.

MORNING

1. Spirit of perdition, release me, die, in the name of Jesus.
2. Destiny wasters, I am not your candidate, loose your hold and die, in the name of Jesus.
3. Every seed of wickedness in me, be uprooted, die, in the name of Jesus.

4. I refuse my destiny to be mortgaged on the laps of Delilah, in the name of Jesus.
5. Spirit of sexual lust release me and die, in the name of Jesus.
6. O Lord, create in me the fear of God, in the name of Jesus.
7. One minute enjoyment will not destroy, my eternity in the name of Jesus.

TOPIC:YOUR SECRETS: YOUR DISCRETION

FIRE SCRIPTURE:

MEMORY VERSE:

A prudent man concealth knowledge: but the heart of fools proclaimeth foolishness. – Proverbs 12:23

The MESSAGE:

In life, there are certain pieces of information that should remain close to our chest or treated as confidential and there are others that can be shared. Our failure to differentiate between the two and keep sensitive matters out of public knowledge may result in serious damage to our lives. In today’s world, everything and everyone feeds and lives on information. Despite this, there are still certain items of information we consider unfit for public knowledge. Likewise, there are items of information or revelation about our lives that should remain a secret.

In our Fire Scripture, Samuel knew Saul was to be substituted and the heir apparent was to be ordained, but he was also conscious of the danger attached if King Saul should know about it. God gave him sound counsel and he told no one about the plans of God. Jesse and his children as well as David (the anointed) knew nothing about the real intention of the sacrifice. Joseph revealed his vision and dreams to his brethren, but only the race of God made sure it wasn’t truncated (Genesis 37:19-20). Samson’s parents had known the secret of Samson’s strength since birth, yet they told no one (Judges 13:5). The day Delilah heard of Samson’s secret from Samson himself, she told Samson’s enemies and brought him into destruction (Judges 16:17, 18).

Everyone qualifies for your love. However, not all the people you love qualify to know the secrets of your life! Because, some may not be able to handle it, while others cannot wait to use your secret for personal gain! The adversary that wants to destroy you, oftentimes, does not come with a sword but with a smile!

Also, it’s important to learn to keep other people’s secrets. This is about trust. It’s also important because of what may be at stake. So it’s hue responsibility to ensure that people around you can confide in you. It’s a hallmark of reliability that must be seen in the life of a believer. Nothing can be more dangerous and painful than to share your secrets or ideas with friends who will let you down! I pray the Lord will expose all unfriendly friends and point you to the warning signals about them, in Jesus name.

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE:

Everyone qualifies for your love, but not all the people you love qualify to know the secrets of your life!

PROPHETIC WORD:

Every unfriendly friend you rely upon for comfort shall be exposed.

PRAYER POINTS

MORNING

1. O Lord, forgive me for revealing what I should conceal, in the name of Jesus.
2. Every secret of my life in wrong hands, be wiped off by the blood of Jesus, in the name of Jesus.
3. I will not talk my life into trouble, in the name of Jesus.

EVENING

4. Database of the enemy, containing information about me, be crushed, in the name of Jesus.
5. Powers to know when to talk and speak only the right words fall upon me in the name of Jesus.
6. O Lord, grant me counsel to protect and implement my divine vision, in the name of Jesus.
7. Lord Jesus, help me to fulfil my dreams, in the name of Jesus.

TOPIC: CAIN’S OFFERING

FIRE SCRIPTURE:

MEMORY VERSE:

If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? And if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him. – Genesis 4:7

The MESSAGE:

The story of Cain and his brother, Abel, is familiar to most believers. One of the most intriguing and underlying truth behind the reason for God to honour the sacrifice of one and reject the other can be found by carefully comparing our Fire Scripture with the memory verse. There is one word that is common to them: ‘acceptable’’. Sadly, the reason Cain killed his brother (Abel) was because God accepted Abel and his offering while He rejected Cain and his offering.

The Bible never said the offering of Cain was bad, but that it wasn’t acceptable. Romans 12:2 points to three things which are 1)Good 2)Acceptable 3) Perfect will of God. They represent the scale God uses to weigh our service and sacrifices in His Kingdom. However, God is expecting our service and sacrifices to at least weigh acceptably on His scale of measurement. Romans 12:1 says, that our sacrifices that are acceptable to God is our reasonable service, confirming what the minimum requirement is for all believers seeking approval from God. Let us use coming for church service to illustrate this. The singular act of coming to church is a good thing. However, coming to church at the right time and participating accordingly is more acceptable than just strolling into the church when the sermon is going on. There is yet another level, which is getting to church long before the commencement of service, praying for all the ministers, preparing your mind to meet the Lord and participating accordingly during service. This represents the level expected of us by God. Unfortunately, many take the things of God without the seriousness and reverence that they deserve.

I am of the opinion that the Lord is speaking to a user of this devotion that you should stop giving Him Cain’s offering. Start serving God with all seriousness, reverence and total dedication that He deserves. Know that God wants your best in all that you give Him (time, talent, money, etc). When you begin to do this, great doors will be opened, God will respect you and your sacrifice, and when you speak heaven will listen. I pray that the grace to serve God in an acceptable manner will fll on you today, in Jesus name.

God cannot be served as you like, but diligently by His rules.

PROPHETIC WORD:

You shall not be a misfired arrow.

PRAYER POINTS

MORNING

1. O Lord, have mercy on me today, in the name of Jesus.
2. In all the ways I have been serving God as I like, I repent from them today, in the name of Jesus.
3. The grace to live a life that is pleasing and acceptable unto God, fall upon me, in the name of Jesus.

EVENING

4. Bad disposition towards the things of God in my life, disappear, in the name of Jesus.
5. Arrows of darkness fired to take me to hell, backfire now, in the name of Jesus.
6. I shall not be rejected by the Lord, in the name of Jesus.
7. My life shall not grief God, in the name of Jesus.
