Topic: THOU RESURRECTION POWER, OVERSHADOW MY LIFE
Text: Ephesians 3:10, John 11:25

Raise up your two hands to the Lord and with the loudest voice you can gather, shout this loud and clear:
Thou resurrection power, overshadow my life!!! (Shout it three times).

To overshadow is:
– to enclose
– to bombard
– to incubate
– to envelope.

In Philippians 3:10, Paul prayed a very strange and mysterious prayer point. For this man who wrote most of the New Testament to be praying this kind of prayer point, it must be a very deep matter. He wanted to know three things:
1. He wanted to know Him (The Lord).
2. He wanted to know the power of His resurrection.
3. He wanted to know the fellowship of His sufferings.

But we are only picking the second prayer point today. You would do well to be very attentive tonight. Why did Paul want to know the power of His resurrection? Why was Paul praying this kind of prayer point 30 years after he got converted? If I ask those who have been born again for 30 years to stand up now, there would not be too many people. But here was Paul, still praying this kind of prayer, 30 years after conversion.

What is the mystery behind this power of resurrection? What is the relationship between this power of resurrection and human problems? It is obvious that there is a power that:
– creates
– energizes
– quickens. The Bible says “the flesh profiteth nothing, it is the spirit that quickeneth”.
– maketh alive.
– Killeth.

There is a voice that can speak to the dead and the dead will hear. Jesus stood at the tomb of Lazarus and Martha was telling Him “he has been dead for 4 days and is smelling by now”. Jesus just answered in a short sentence “thy brother shall rise again”. She said “yes I know he shall rise again at the last day”. Jesus said “I am the resurrection and the life.”

There are many weapons that God has given to us in the scriptures that we do not use, or that we are not aware of. Surely, the words of scriptures have come to pass again: “my people perish for lack of knowledge”. Our ignorance of the words of our warfare is to our peril. The knowledge on the resurrection power of the Lord Jesus Christ will change your life. The resurrection power of the Lord Jesus Christ shows that Jesus Christ defeated death.

===> That is why I am prophesying over the life of somebody over there that any organ that is dead in your life any power in the body that has been rendered dead, by that power of the resurrection, I command it to receive life now in the name of Jesus.

What is the basis of that prayer I just prayed? The basis shows that Jesus Christ defeated death. Not only death of human beings, but the death of good things. The Resurrection power confirms the truth of the scriptures. The Bible says “if Christ be not risen from the dead, our faith is in vain”. The Resurrection power proves that the gospel is true. Many have tried to repeat the Resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ but they failed. They died and died completely.

The Resurrection power proves that Jesus is the Son of God. It gives Christians a living hope. That Resurrection power means that eventually we shall be raised again to be with Him. By the power that raised Jesus Christ from the dead, is it a dead brain? It cannot confront the Resurrection power. Is it dead organs of the body? it cannot confront the Resurrection power. Is it a dead business? It cannot confront the Resurrection power. Is it a dead destiny? It cannot confront the Resurrection power.

But whether or not you are now aware of the strange power that is in it, is another story entirely. The Resurrection power confirms who Jesus is. It conquers death for us. It defeats Satan for us. The Resurrection power shows us the raw power of God. It demonstrates the uniqueness of Christianity.

All other religion founders are dead. None of them rose up from the dead apart from Jesus Christ. This is why we sing:

“Up from the grave He arose.
With a mighty triumph o’er His foes;
He arose a Victor from the dark domain,
And He lives forever with His saints to reign,
He arose! He arose! Hallelujah!
Christ arose!”

It was that resurrection power that raised Him up. The Resurrection power is the gospel. It displays a supernatural manifestation of the power of God. The sting of death, the power of death is removed by the Resurrection power. It guarantees us that there is a future for us, although many people are not thinking about that last resurrection now. But whether or not you think about it, it will happen. It is the cornerstone of our faith and it provides us victory. No wonder when Jesus got to the tomb of Lazarus, he wept.

He wept not because he was sorry that Lazarus was dead but He wept because of all those people who were standing there and did not know that He is the resurrection and the life. Instead they were telling him that Lazarus would rise up on the last day. He had to tell them that He is the resurrection and the life. And for the first time, Jesus taught us something very serious in our warfare and in our prayers. He raised up his face to the heavens and prayed to His Father. He spoke to His father quietly, reverently.

But by the time He turned to the grave the Bible says He cried with a loud voice: ” Lazarus come forth!” And it was a good thing He was specific. If He had just said “come forth”, I am sure all those who followed them to the graveyard would run away because all the dead that were there would just come up.

===> I am praying for somebody here today that by the power of the resurrection, any good thing in your life that the enemy has killed, shall receive life in the name of Jesus. (A seven-fold amen).

The resurrection power is the basis of our hope as Christians. It is our glorious expectation. So to experience the power of resurrection is to experience the power of change. To experience the power of resurrection is to experience the power of victory. There are many powerful forces here on earth today. The greatest force is not the power of electricity. It is not the power of waves. It is not the power of nuclear warfare. It is not the power of wind. Paul knew that the most powerful force in the universe is the power of His resurrection because it changes lives.

The resurrection power changes people from dead to life. It releases people from bondage and care. It releases us from our burdens and fear. It revives our dead spiritual lives. If you need a change, you need to key yourself; plug yourself into the socket of the power of His Resurrection.

The resurrection power is not just a part of theology, it is a person, a personality. It is that power that gives us boldness to call on the name of Jesus. It is the power that put Satan under our feet, the same power that raised Lazarus from the dead. The power that healed the lepers, the authenticating power. The resurrection power is great and tremendous.

So what is known as the Resurrection power?
Remember Ezekiel in the valley of bones. The bones were dead and dry. There were plenty of them in the valley of bones and God asked Ezekiel a question “Son of man, can these bones live?” He replied “O Lord, you know”. God said “okay, begin to command”. What Ezekiel was commanding into those bones was that power of resurrection.

===> I am praying one more time here today that any good thing that is either dead, at the point of death or at the point of coma, by the power of the resurrection, I command it to receive life, in the name of Jesus.

(All the students should slap their heads seven hot times). Shout three hot times: I plug my life into the socket of the power of the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.

What is it that is known as the power of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ?

This is where you have to listen very carefully so you will know how to shape your prayers when we start now. The resurrection power is the power that:
– maketh alive.
– killeth without hands
– makes things to consist
– changes dry bones
– speaks creative words.
– brings forth living winds.

===> I am praying for somebody here today that the living winds of His resurrection will blow upon your life here today, in the name of Jesus.

– accumulates fire within your bones
– destroys stagnation and decay.
– to encourage the rapture
– encourages the angels of life to stir the water of your life.
– is the breath of life
– raises the physically, spiritually and emotionally dead
– speaks living words to dead things.
– puts disease killers in your blood
– speaks words that matter in the grave
– speaks words that scare away death
– arrests coffin spirits
– pours the water of life into the desert soul.

When you call upon this power to come upon you, like the prayer we started with, what happens when you begin to pray it consistently without changing it? When you continue;
– it causes the dead to live
– it preserves your own life
– you begin to experience heaven on earth
– it destroys destructive forces
– it withdraws life from unfriendly powers
– it would speak destruction to stagnancy, decay and limitations
– it converts your dry bones to living bones.
– it ignites the spirit of revival
– it arrests the spirits of death in your dream
– it will plug your life into the life giving anointing.
– it will speak life into your finances, academics, marriage, business, career
– it will speak life into anything in your life that is capable of dying
– it would speak life into the wind to carry life or death
– It would speak water of life into a situation
– it tears the strength of your oppressors.

Today, get yourself ready. If I begin to share testimonies of those who have prayed this prayer and the results they got, we will be long here today. But the trouble is this: when you call on the power of His resurrection, it is not a gentleman’s prayer. When Ezekiel prophesied life to dry bones, it was not a gentleman’s prayer because as he started, noise started in the valley. Life came into the dry bones and there was commotion.

You want to operate this prayer tonight?
1. Surrender your life to Jesus.
2. Repent from every known sin.
3. Form the habit of controlling and taming your tongue.
4. Die to self.
5. Pray with violent faith so that you can plug your life into that socket of the power of resurrection. Jesus is here, His power is here again.

PRAYER POINTS
1. Thou Resurrection power, overshadow my head in the name of Jesus.
2. Thou power of resurrection, overshadow my heart in the name of Jesus.
3. Any good thing in my life that the enemy has killed, come alive in the name of Jesus.
4. Thou resurrection power, overshadow my stomach in the name of Jesus.
5. Voices of darkness speaking against me, shut up in the name of Jesus.
6. Thou resurrection power, overshadow my life in the name of Jesus.
7. Thou resurrection power, overshadow my water in the name of Jesus.
