Becoming God’s Favorite by Dr D. K. Olukoya

Message:

You will do very well to listen to this message. It could be the most important message for the year.

The first point to make is this: does God has favorite? The answer is a resounding YES! Any preacher telling you otherwise has not read his bible very well.

There are prayers and there are prayers. There are prayers you can pray and it would make up for 2000 prayers.

It was Miriam and Aaron that spoke against Moses, criticizing him for marrying an Ethiopian woman. God summoned all of them to come out where everybody could see them.

God appeared unto telling them that Moses was His meekest prophet that He talked with mouth to mouth and was displeased with both siblings. Immediately God departed from them, Miriam became leprous. Why did this happened? Moses was God’s favorite and God defended his interest.
The big truth is that God the father, God the son and God the Holy Spirit has favorites.

Caleb was God’s favorite, Abel, Enoch was God’s favorite. The Bible says Enoch walked with God. The man just disappeared and walked up to heaven.

G.O narrates a real life incident:

There was a children Sunday school class some years back and a little boy was asked to talk about (describe) Enoch. The boy said ‘Enoch was a very close friend of God and then He talk, talk and talked with God. Sometimes after talking with God, God escorts Enoch back to his house. One day, Enoch escorted God to his house and he didn’t come back. That was the description of Enoch by that little boy.

Noah too was God’s favorite too. He began building an ark for 120 years. He found grace in the eyes of the Lord and God preserve him and family from destruction.

Abraham and Sarah were God’s favorites, God blessed them mightily. Up till date, we still sing about Abraham. David was God’s favorite, he took after God’s heart.

Mary too was God’s favorite. An angel appeared before her and said she is highly favored among women. Mary never performed miracle nor did she heal anyone but her name is still remembered today.

The best thing that can happen to you as a believer is to become God’s favorite. The Bible says secret things belongs to God but He reveals those secrets to his servants the prophet. He now said ‘Touch not my anointed and do my prophet no harm’. Any time God’s anointed is touched, there is always a strong reaction from God.

God himself pursued Jonah when Jonah went away from the presence of God. Cain went away from the presence of God and was not bothered about him. You must strive to become God’s favorite.

One of the great men in the Bible was Ananias. Everyone was running away from Saul. God went to Ananias and called him by name to go lay hands on Saul and baptize him. The man (Ananias) did not doubt God and he went straight to Saul. God spoke to him because he was God’s favorite. He went to Saul and said ‘Brother Saul, the Lord who appeared to you has sent me to you’. Ananias was a favorite of God.

God cannot be treating disobedient children and obedient children the same way.

The truth is that if you want to become God’s favorite, it is a personal decision. Move close to Him and He will move close to you. You are as close to God as you will like to be.

Listen carefully beloved, as human beings: there are things you can do to become someone’s favorite. Whether in your place of work, in your school, in your homes. If you keep being unruly, disobedient, insulting, abusive, you cannot become someone’s favorite. You may be brilliant but if you keep disrespecting the person, others will be promoted and you’ll be ignored.

When you become God’s favorite, it is better than becoming man’s favorite.

When you become God’s favorite:

He shows you the deep and secret things.
He makes you laugh while others are crying.
He singles you out for miracles.
There is quick answer to your prayers.
Before you talk, he already answers.
The struggle to move forward will be eliminated.
You become a lamb in the midst of wolves who cannot tear you to pieces.
You become a wonder in the midst of your contemporaries.
They can employ balaam against you. balaam with 7 alters, 7 bullocks but the curses will become blessings.
The enemies will not be able to cross you.
Those little effort you’re making will become great achievement.
It guarantees your supernatural breakthrough and prosperity.
A source of wonders, a mysterious wonder.
It immunizes you from wastage from the enemies.
He guarantees your preferential treatment.
It means God is fighting your battle, he just stations you in the midst of the battle as a spectator.
He keeps your enemies where they belong.
Becoming God’s favorites is an announcer of men.
Your helpers will lose sleep until they locate you.

This is where you have to listen carefully. If you want to become Gods favorite, then:

He will draw you into a life of crucifixion.
He will draw you into a life of humility.
He will put you on a serious path of obedience.
He will let others do things which He will not let you do. Others may scheme and manipulate. If you do it, He will allow you to meet such act with failure.
Others may be very careless with the opposite sex, not you. Others may be sleeping around and aborting, not you. If you try it, you’ll almost die in the process.
Others may be doing all kinds of sexual perversion but not you.
Others may be stealing from God but you cannot steal from God.
Others may be smoking and drinking secretly, not you.
Others may be addicted to worldly dressing, not you.
Others may be calling in-laws to settle quarrels, not you.
Others may be boasting about their success, cars, wealth but the Holy Spirit will not allow you to do it.
Others may aggressively pursue wealth to any level with any kind of manipulation, but you are not allowed as God’s favorite to do the same.
The Lord may be allowing others into the limelight and be pushed there, but as God’s favorite, He will keep you in hiding.
Others may be sitting on the fence spiritually but you cannot do so.

What are you going to do? For those who want to key to this:

You need to become God’s friend.
You need to repent from any known sin. All sinners are fighting God.
You need to trust in God with all your heart.
You need to kill Mr. Flesh so that, that flesh will not control your life.
You need to be a bible addict. Read your Bible constantly. Memorize the scripture, meditate on it and put it to use.
You need to become a prayer addict. You must be a man or woman addicted to prayer. You must be a prayer warrior. When you’re like this heaven begin to look at you afresh.
You must be broken. You are being provoked but God wants it to die in you still-born without retaliating. Even if the provocation is unpalatable, you say ‘yes Lord’.

Bottom-line: There is an hunger in heaven: God is seeking for a man or a woman who He can use. When you begin to do that, the telescope of heaven will locate you and begin to speak to you.

What people do not understand is this: the day you hear from God is the day your progress begins. I’m praying for someone here: may you become God’s favorite in the name of Jesus.

The subject of glory is very deep. Every individual created by God has a glory and everyone’s glory is unique. The Bible makes it clear that there are different kinds of glory.

1 Corinthians 15:38-41

But God giveth it a body as it hath pleased him, and to every seed his own body. All ﬂesh is not the same ﬂesh: but there is one kind of ﬂesh of men, another ﬂesh of beasts, another of ﬁshes, and another of birds. In the Bible passage above, Moses asked God to show him His glory because he knew that once he has access to the glory of God, his life would never remain the same.

The issue of glory is so important that even God Himself guards His own glory jealously. God says in Isaiah 42:8: I am the LORD: that is

my name: and my glory will not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.

God says lie will not share His glory with another. The word “glory” is an interesting word. Glory means so many things: it means honour, a distinguished quality. Glory means outstanding. Glory means magniﬁcence.

DIVINE GLORY

The Bible also makes it crystal clear that there is the glory of God. The glory of God means the special manifestation of the revelation of the divine power. It means the physical signs of God’s presence in a person‘s life. The glory of God means the glorious presence of God that travels from His throne to shine on one. It means the overshadowing power of God that can protect, deliver, empower and suit a person. The glory of God incubates refreshes and prospers a person.

BENEFITS OF GLORY

When the glory of God is upon your life, you don’t need to pray about deliverance; you don’t need to pray about healing and prosperity because the glory of God is enough to give you everything. The glory of God is the seal that protects the saints. It is the protective, preservative, glorious presence of God. It is a divine aura surrounding a person. It is the tabernacle of God into your life, it is having access into the mysteries of God.

It is a tragedy if you don’t encounter the glory of God; it will be unfortunate if the enemy has taken the glory of God away from your life— Acts 12:21-23: “And upon a set day Herod, arrayed in royal apparel, sat upon his throne, and made an oration unto them. And the people gave a shout, saying, It is the voice of a god, and not of a man. And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory: and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost. ”

Herod made a mistake and the angel of the Lord smote him. Herod put James to death. He planned to cut off Peter’s head. When he found out that Peter had escaped, he killed the sixteen soldiers that guarded Peter. Herod caused sixteen funeral services. He created sixteen widows and sixteen fatherless homes. Despite all his sins, God never did anything to him. However, the day he tampered with the glory of God Almighty, Herod received swift judgement.

This shows how serious God guards His glory.

TYPES OF GLORY

As far as man is concerned, there are four kinds of glory.

Glory given to you by the LORD: It is part of what God has and has given to you; His glory radiating upon your life, just like He did for Moses.
Inherited glory.
Acquired glory.
lnborn glory.

The Bible says that God’s ultimate purpose for you is to carry His glory. Every man has deposited glory. Your glory is your shining forth.

Your glory is your tangible virtue. Your glory is your internal Moses; the Moses God has deposited in you for the days of trouble. Your

glory is your destiny promotion; it is your quota of divine excellence planted in you.

YOUR GLORY

Your glory is your unique capacity. Your glory is what you can do but you have not done yet. Your glory is the star of your destiny. Your glory magnetises favour unto you. Your glory is your urge for greatness. lt is the positive aura that God has used to surround you.

The trouble about glory is that it can be stolen. It can be transferred, it can be lost, it can fade away, it can sink, it can be killed, destroyed,

buried or turned to shame. The devil’s agenda is to bury the glory of man. When somebody goes from grace to grass, his glory has been buried.

When somebody is suffering from poverty of clear thinking; when the person cannot think clearly about the consequences of the actions he is taking, this means the person’s glory has been buried.

STEPS TO DELIVERANCE

You need to surrender your life to Jesus Christ: You need to completely surrender your life to Jesus. When you surrender your life to Jesus, all beggarly powers are swept away. Perhaps there is something you are using to gain power, that thing will help you to bury your glory if you don’t surrender to Jesus.
You need to obey completely: You must do what God wants you to do. You must hearken to His voice. You must obey God in everything He says you should do.
You need to pray recovery prayers to recover what the enemy has stolen from you: There is no gentle way of arresting anything evil. The only way to arrest evil is through violent prayers.

Beloved, in this year of supernatural ease and double honour, the God that answers by ﬁre will make your glory to shine and your joy shall be full, in the name of Jesus.

PRAYER POINTS

Father, I thank You because You are good and Your mercy endures forever, in the name of Jesus.

Blood of Jesus, avail and prevail for me this month, in the name of Jesus.
O God arise, baptise me with Your Spirit and fire in the name of Jesus.
O God arise and baptise me with the oil of unprecedented favour. in the name of Jesus.
Any power, programmed against my glory, die, in the name of Jesus.
Every good road closed against me, open by fire, in the name of Jesus.
O God, by Your name JAH, let my glory manifest and shine ceaselessly, in the name of Jesus.
Any cage of darkness where my (destiny/business/career/marriage/ministry/ﬁnance) has been shut, I force you open, in the name of Jesus.

Where is the Lord God of Elijah? Arise, bombard my life with multiple breakthroughs this month, in the name of Jesus.
Father, Let Your peace that passes all understanding overshadow my life, in the name of Jesus.

Before I share with you the Important Announcement I have for you, I do receive many questions on this platform, out of many which are confidential though. I want to share this two with you which i received of recent.

Question: PJoe, When you and your wife are in the place of prayers for two weeks before the delivery of your baby boy, how are you able to cope? What gives you the strength and courage during the time?

Answer: Let me backtrack a bit for those reading this who didn’t receive/read my previous mail. I shared to the Glory of God alone what He did for my family and how He frustrated every rage, fury and works of darkness, that we had to stay in the place of prayers for two weeks before going to hospital for delivery of our baby boy.

It was not easy but we stood on the word of prophecy which God gave us and we held on to it.

One thing I know for sure is that we are fighting from victory and not for victory. We are demanding to experience what God has done for us through Jesus Christ potentially.

Jesus Christ won the FIGHT and gave us VICTORY and I pray for you my dear friend reading this that you shall experience all round victory in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Question 2: Pastor, how can i grow spiritually?

Answer : My dear Friend, to grow spiritually is a daily affair and matter on your part with the help of Holy Spirit. I could remember while growing up there is this song we do sing….read your Bible pray every day if you want to grow. So the basic foundation for spiritual growth is the word of God and Prayer.

God has connected you to this platform for spiritual growth by daily listening to inspiring sermons/teachings and fire prayers. So all other things you need will spring forth from the foundation of the word of God and daily prayers. In the spiritual things, overtaking is allowed, so don’t compare your growth with another. TEXT: MAT 12:43-45, PSALM 18:44-45

INTRODUCTION
There is a big house that have a sitting room, bed room, toilet kitchen and all the room. in that big house you can decide to put JESUS in the sitting room, and bedroom, and kitchen and all the room, or you can just put the Holy Spirit in the toilet and then put the evil demon or spirit in the sitting room. That is why when you pray for the Holy Spirit and you don’t get it, you get confused.

One mystery of deliverance is that the Holy Spirit and the bad spirit can co-exist in the life of a man. (two spirit in a man).

So when you have a dangerous tenant within you, they are the ones that will be inviting the other tenants to afflict you. even if you travel all around the world
the tenant is inside of you. This days many people keep fighting the enemy outside.

The principle of tenant evacuation is to Create discomfort for that tenant. the bible says “strangers shall be afraid from their closed places and flee”

GET IT STRAIGHT. IF THE INTERNAL ENEMY IS NOT DEALT WITH,THE OUTSIDE WILL KEEP FIGHTING.

“A man is a spirit being that has a soul, but living in a bod” Any of this three things can become bungalow, palace or duplex for the enemies

A man is suppose to be total landlord of himself.

Every area of your life that Jesus occupies is safe but any area of your life that is not totally given to God. is a space for bad spirit. The bible says summit your self to God when you can resist the devil. that means you have to submit first. before you can resist the devil. Any area of your life that you find very difficult to surrender to God is definitely controlled by the demons. Evil spirits are personalities without bodies.

Message:
This passage makes us to understand that there are secrets of prayer the people of the old understood but we do not.
Elijah used prayers to lock up heavens and put the keys in his pocket and walked away and after 3 years, he unlocked it.

Prayer is that platform where you wage war against the kingdom of darkness.
Prayer is a place where the power of God is acquired and sustained.

In the history of the church, there were no personal or city revival without prayer.
If you want to kill anybody, kill the prayer life.

Prayer is the key to unlock closed doors.
Prayer is the key to God’s blessings.
Prayer is an antidote against worry and cares of the world.

Through prayers, you can raise standard against the enemies of God.
By it, you can rule the world.

Prayer reveals God’s agenda to His people.

Prayer is a sanitizer, it cleanses the environment.

Prayer paralyzes the power of darkness.

Prayer paralyzes the works of the wicked.

When you prevail in the place of prayer, you will overtake with bear foot against those that have gone ahead of you.

When you have a dream you don’t understand, Prayers sharpens all understanding.

Prayer gives you power to pursue your dreams.

Where power change hands, is the place of prayer.

Prayer create terror to the kingdom of darkness.

Prayer has divided the sea.

Prayer has shut up the lion’s mouth.

Prayer has brought fire from heaven.

Prayer has brought rain from heaven.

Prayer charges like a battery is being charged.

God does nothing,without prayer.

Prayer demolishes fortress of the enemy.

Prayer is HARD WORK.

There is something called “PRAYER DOZE”.
When you take medicine, a doze is a quantity of medicine to work for you well.

Some are in small quantity of doze over a period of time, some are in larger quantity.

Prayer Dozes
Elijah prayed 7 times before that little cloud appeared before rain fell.
Which of the dozes of prayer did Elijah prayed that brought the rain? Is it number one or number three?

A doze of prayer is needed. Would there have been rain if Elijah had stopped at number 3?

It means many prayer investments can be wasted if one last prayer is omitted.

Prayer can also be dozes. In the mystery of prayer, there can never be overdose but there can be underdoze.

Constant doze of prayer will go fast, bit ceaseless prayer will go further.
There are certain problems that the doze you take is required day and night.

Some condition may require you to pray day time and do vigil.
If you have tried the day doze, try Jesus prescription: day and night doze.

If the problem you are facing takes 10 days and dose and you use one doze, you are looking for trouble.

Elijah prayed again: the “again prayer” brought the rain.
If with the status of prophet; Elijah prayed again, then, we need to pray more.

When God’s people come together to pray, extraordinary things happen. The Bible says when two or three people gathered, He is in their midst.

The Bible says one can chase a thousand, two can chase out ten thousands to flight.

No prayer is wasted, prayer do not die.
All the prayers you pray is like termite eating a cupboard little by little and one day, you will strike the target.

Prayer is a serious mystery.

Prayer rain:

1. Every battle design to embarrass me, die in the name of Jesus

2. Powers that cannot harm me, but reporting me to powers that can harm me, before I leave this place: die in the name of Jesus.

5. Oh Lord: before 24hrs, let me see your hand of power in the name of Jesus.

6. Banks of the enemies, hear the word of the Lord: vomit my money in the name of Jesus.

8. Every battle I was born with, expire in the name of Jesus

9. Where is the God of Elijah: arise, answer my mockers by thunder In the name of Jesus.

10. Every battle, fighting from inside my blood: die in the name of Jesus.
