‘The Greatest Heaven Lamentation’
Ministering: Dr D.K Olukoya (G.O, MFM Worldwide)
Anchored Scripture: Matthew 9:37, 1 Kings 17:9-14, Matthew 28:19
Message:
We continue with our teaching ‘Every Member a Prophet’.
And under that canopy, we are looking at what I call ‘the greatest heaven lamentation’.
Two things take place in heaven very frequently: joy over every saved sinners. Lamentation over those who things are not working out according to plan in people’s lives.
The greatest lamentation is what I want to speak to you now. This lamentation will land many Christians in trouble with God.
Unfortunately, many are not seeking the face of God but they specialize on asking from God (seeking his hand and not concern about God’s need).
The greatest concern of God which is His heart beat, you see it in the book of Matthew 9:47. It is good to listen carefully especially if you have been born again for more than a year.
If you have ever cried out to God and asked ‘God, do you have any concern about my life’? the answer is in Matthew 9:37.
The farm is greater than the farmers (from the passage). It says ‘pray ye therefore to the Lord of the harvest, that he will send out workers into his harvest.
We sang here a hymn this morning, ‘a call for loyal soldiers’.
If God have saved you, He has saved you to serve. He didn’t save you so that you can enjoy yourself.
And in this world, let me be honest with you, the people who are being blessed are those who go out of their way and be a blessing to others.
By the time you leave this planet.
Nobody I’ll remember you for the money you have, they will remember you for the live you have impacted. That is the blunt truth. No matter how rich or who you are, when you go, nobody buries your limousine in the grave.
When you have gone, the Bible says their works follow them.
If you have no works, nothing follows you.
Listen and listen carefully, a lot of us God has blessed, He did that so that we can serve.
It is because of David service to God in his generation that we are remembering him today.
Those who go out of their ways to be a blessing to others, it is those who put God first in everything.
See a principle in 1 Kings 17, when Elijah went to the widow of zarephat. Then, he began to talk to the widow in 1 Kings 17:9-14
The principle of God is God first. The woman went out of her way to be a blessing to Elijah first and she never lacked and she was blessed greatly.
The heartbeat of God and God’s greatest lamentation is that there is plenty of harvest but the laborers/work men available are few.
You can say that there are plenty of churches, yes, but the laborers there are few. There are plenty of pastors, but the pastors there are few. Plenty of overseeers, plenty of supretendents, but the laborers are few.
These are the greatest lamentation of Heaven. The lamentation is mission, you go first to perform a service.
That mission or evangelism is the heartbeat of God. This issue is so important that our lord Jesus Christ came to this earth and died a missionary. When he was going, he left with us the great commission.
In Matthew 28:19, the great commission was committed into our hands.
The greatest commission is that go and teach the whole world, convert the whole world as your classroom.
It is a lamentable tragedy that this greatest commission has become a great omission.
Our God is mission and evangelism minded. God is a missionary God, Jesus is a missionary Christ and the Holy Spirit is a missionary spirit. This great commission is a mission mandate. It is at the center for world evangelism. When every member becomes a prophet, every member automatically becomes an evangelist.
You evangelize with your life, your word and with your activity.
It is the only hope of the condemned. That mission is the health of the earth.
Beloveth, the truth is this: only a church that does evangelism can justify their existence for the Lord. A church that doesn’t do evangelism is actually opposed to the will of God. The last word of Jesus Christ is to his disciples was to go and make disciples. Any fire that doesn’t spread will eventually go out.
We are suppose to be fishers of men. God didn’t make us keepers of aquarium, He made us fishers of men.
We members are suppose to be harvesters of souls. Miinisters and pastors are not suppose to be maintenance officers or just to be preserving sheep but fishers of men. We are not only suppose to seek to preserve what we are to reach out to the world.
The question is this, since you have been born again; can you point to one person that through you, they came to God?
Are you following them up? You’re coming to Manna water service, PMCH, have you ever invited people and prayed with them to surrender their lives to Christ?
Your lives, your business dealing, what you’re doing with the ladies in the office, is it preaching the gospel?
This is a very serious matter.
Our mission is global and our mandate is very urgent. Many people are dying everyday without Christ.
Coca-Cola seems to be every where in the world but if you go to its international headquarters, they wrote something there. It says ‘Think globally but act locally’. 97% of people in this world have heard about Coca-Cola. 74% have drank or tasted it (coca cola).
What are we doing with the gospel God has handed over to us to reach out to the world? Jesus didn’t commanded the whole world to go to Church, He commanded us to reach out to the whole world.
One day, we are going to start a program in MFM, where we will give you invitation form, prayer request to write the names of the people you want them to be born again, who you can follow up.
Mission is very important and the basic principle of mission is this:
1. Somebody has to go.
2. Somebody has to send them.
3. If you cannot go, then you send someone to go in your place.
‘Go ye to the world is not a suggestion, it is a command’. A minimum of 700,000 people are dying everyday. The tradegy is this: many nations are closing its door against misssion works there now. We must move because there will be judgement if we don’t move.
The problem with Nigerian Christianity is instead of us to disciple people who will go and preach the gospel, we are busy teaching them prosperity messages.
The people we have refused to disciple are the ones killing people all over the place.
The time we are suppose to teach them, we were teaching them prosperity messages.
The map of nations of the world as at 2006 estimates, although it has gone up to 7.7 billion. In 2006, it was about 6.6 billion. 2.2 billions are Christians, out of that figure, 1.6 billions are Catholics. There are 1.2 billions who are muslims. 1 billion people are Hindus. 400 millions are Buddhists. The world contains 269 countries. Catholics are in 218 countries of the world. Jehovah witness are in 231 countries in the world.
Majority of the world have not heard about the saving power of the cross.
Let’s put that aside a little bit.
We have over 505 languages in Nigeria. Only 21 languages have bible recorded in their language translations of the complete bible. 57 languages have just the New Testament Bible translated in its languages. 32 languages only have Luke, mark and psalms. And yet there are rich Christians who come to church and do nothing. There are rich Christians coming to church doing nothing and none of them ever thought of giving Bible society money to produce Bible in more languages.
I wonder what would have become of yourba languages bible if Ajayi Crowther didnt produce the written English transalation to Yoruba.
Those who speak Hausa are about 3 millions outside this country who have not heard the gospel or seen it written in their languages.
The terrible statistics is this: 2/3 (two-thirds) of the world population have not heard the preaching of the saving power of the cross.
The Asians are the largest untouched places who have not heard the gospel at all.
God scattered the apostles and the power of God was in and with them to work.
The church will outlast all opposition no doubt, but there would have been no church in Africa today if there were no missionaries yesterday.
Church is an offensive agent of divine conquest.
We have mission outreach in this church and mission group. It (missionary and evangelism) is the agenda of God for territorial control.
Once God doesn’t derive pleasure in what we do, and once he doesn’t derive pleasure in how we go about what we do, He dismisses the church.
Our agenda is to deliver the world and break its bondages.
Whatever part you play in church be it singing, ushering, you are part of the orchestrated move of God to destroy opposition and the enemy of God.
The story of Apostle Joseph Ayo Babalola:
That is why we heard about apostle Ayo Babalola.
He had a crusade somewhere for three days. He told the people that anyone who had strange powers should bring them to the crusade ground.
Someone took a picture of that incident then.
Where they threw those juju powers brought by people, was as tall as a three storey building and the man of God set fire on them (idols), and burnt them.
There had been a white missionary in that place for 17 years.
The white man went to apostle Babalola and said ‘that what he had done in the crusade ground for three days is what no one would do there in 70 years’.
This is the situation: the harvest is plenty but the laborers are few.
We spend our money and energy in others places where other Christians have attended to.
We go to the house of those who have already had their bibles.
Over 60 millions are church goers. We have not produce 30000 missionaries. Nigeria has the concernatration of young people in the globe who are born again. We need to reach out and reach out to the world.
Over 250 millions of people here. Every year, the church Baptist’s only 4 millions of people which is a mere fraction of that figure. The church has lot of academic knowledge but without duty, they have presence without power.
Bottomline:
I’m saying this to you so that you know what the lamentation of God is.
Will you be able to look at the face of God and know if you’re an instrument in His hand? While souls are perishing, are you doing anything about it?
The people you convert there will be instrument to convert other people. If you don’t do well in this area, you have not done well at all.
You’re in this service this morning, you know God has been calling you, you’re hiding, you’re running. You are worried about your life and future, but you have backslided from God. What you need to do is to slide back to God. Just get down on your knees and begin to make amendment with God. Sort out yourself before the Lord now.

14. Oh God arise, make me a soul winner in the name of Jesus!
